Canva Tutorial – Magic Resizing

Marketing on multiple social media platforms can be a pain, you have to remember what sizes work best on what platform, the dimensions for an IG story vs an IG post, what size Pins get the most views, and how to use the content you build on multiple platforms. Social media marketing is a need in all businesses so everyone asks how they can simplify making the content for multiple platforms so that their time can be used to grow their actual business. Well in this video I will show you exactly how!

So you made a piece of social media content, but realize it only works for your Facebook page, now how are you going to use this same content for IG, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc. You can google all the preferred sizes and design brand new content for each platform which would take hours or stick around for this super quick and easy tutorial on Canva’s Magic Resize
So first thing you need to log in to your Canva Pro account, and if you don’t already have a Canva Pro account you can pause the video and use the link in the description to start your free trial.

For this one I am going to use a blank Facebook post template, but depending on what you are creating your design for you can use any blank template to get started.
Once you have your blank template I’m just going to add a background, some elements, and some text.

So we have our design and I kept it pretty simple for this one so I didn’t take up all your time doing the design portion of the content.

We have our Facebook post design and we can go ahead and download it and get it posted or scheduled. But we want a similar design for our other platforms.

Let’s start with turning it into an IG story. Go up to the top and click resize, and just look at this list, you can literally resize it into anything that you want and Canva already has the sizes saved so you don’t have to worry or Google what sizes work best, they did the hard work for you.

So I’m going to click IG story and its going to open up a new Canva tab. So as you can tell when you do resize you have to space things out to fill up the blank background. So I’m going to move a few things around, make my picture larger. And there you go we now have an IG story.

But you don’t have to stop there, let’s turn it into an IG post also. Go back up to the top and just choose Instagram Post, it will open a new tab again. And there you go.

Same thing as we did with the story, we are going to move some things around and change the size on things to make it look better. And now in a few minutes we have a custom social media design that will work perfectly on a Facebook Post, Instagram Story, and an Instagram Post.
And you could keep resizing and creating the content for whatever platforms that you are using.

And that is it, super easy might be my shortest tutorial yet, but the time you are going to save using this feature is amazing. Also, look at all the content you can create off of one design. You can change the design as much as you want with one click and just moving a few things around.

Now I know you are feeling a lot more confident on creating social media content and not feeling overwhelmed with the time it will take.
